Even though the sun is shining and school is out, this summer will be one unlike any other.

Parents are usually prepared for summer breaks, with childcare and camps rearranged in advance. Even with some restrictions lifted, many summer camps and childcare services will not be possible this year. Luckily there are lots of ways to still let kids be kids and enjoy the summer while also keeping them and others safe.

Even if we are social distancing, it is physically and mentally good for kids to spend time outside. On days where the weather is pleasant, any one of these activities will keep your kids engaged and enjoying the summer weather.

Plant a Garden

Start a Workout Challenge

Backyard Camping

Pack a Picnic

Host a Field Day

A classic field day can be so much fun and bring a little competitiveness out of the whole family. Set up activities such as the 3 legged race, backyard obstacle courses, potato sack races using old pillowcases, and water balloon tosses and watch the fun unfold! Offer prizes like a no chore day or choosing dinner one night.

DIY Projects

Crafts and DIY projects are the perfect way to keep your kid's attention and the creativity here is endless. Try making a bird feeder out of a milk carton or a scavenger hunt complete with prizes.

Bake Off Challenge

Karaoke Competition

The 4th of July is arguably one of the most exciting days during summer vacation for a child. There’s usually swimming, delicious food, family, friends, and fireworks. This year’s celebrations will look a bit different this year since community events are being canceled across the country. But, backyard BBQs and virtual firework displays will still make you feel as patriotic as ever.

Virtual Firework Displays

A long-time resident of the Manchester, NH area, Suzanne Damon has been a powerhouse in real estate for the past 29 years. Ranked among the top-producing agents in both New Hampshire and the United States, she leads The Damon Home Team with expertise, integrity, and a deep commitment to her clients. Suzanne’s entrepreneurial spirit started early—at just seven years old, she was pulling a wagon through the city, selling flowers from her garden. That same determination carried her through college debt-free and has fueled her success in the ever-evolving real estate market. She understands the rollercoaster of life and knows firsthand the challenges that come with buying or selling a home. Beyond real estate, Suzanne is the President of 1628 Group, a real estate development company focused on community growth. She is also deeply involved in giving back—serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in need and proudly supporting Liberty House, a local organization dedicated to helping homeless veterans rebuild their lives. Hardworking, caring, and genuinely fun to work with, Suzanne and her team bring a no-pressure, results-driven approach to every transaction—because achieving your real estate goals should be exciting, not stressful.
